Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - All Papa John's locations in Rochester have closed.

A sign posted to the door of the East Henrietta Road location in Henrietta on Monday confirmed the closures.

Owner Schuyler Lofberg said the closures are due to "the heavy headwinds put upon us by New York State."

A total of five stores were operating in Rochester.

A message from Papa John's corporate office reads as follows:

We can confirm that five franchise-owned locations in the Rochester, NY market have closed. We’re grateful to all of our loyal customers in Rochester and are currently exploring possibilities around new ownership.
