ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - Rochester Police say one man has died following a shooting on Seward Street early Tuesday morning.

Police say officers responded to the 800 block of Seward Street around 6:15 a.m. for the report of four shots fired.

Upon investigation, police discovered 43-year-old Roy Jones, Jr. had been shot and killed in the backyard of a home within the 800 block of Seward Street.

No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made.

Barton and Seward Streets were closed near Genesee Street as police investigated the area. That area has since reopened.

This is the third homicide in Rochester this year.
