Police find Rochester man dead in vacant lot; second body found Sunday

Rochester, NY (WHAM) - Police say they found a dead man's body in an open field on Miller Street. They say they are investigating the case as a homicide.

On Wednesday morning, Rochester Police said they identified the man as 24-year-old Alexander Powell, who lived in Rochester.

This is the second body that has been found in Rochester within 24 hours. Police say they also found a body in the backyard of Dayton Street Saturday night.

As of now, police tell us they do not believe the two incidents are related.

There are no suspects in custody at this time, according to officers. Anyone with information should call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 423-9300.
