Brighton, N.Y. - A Brighton home is said to be a total loss after a fire Thursday afternoon.

This happened on Coniston Drive around 3 p.m. Firefighters say the initial call was for a garage on fire. By the time they arrived, they say the fire had spread.

They say this was an older home, which caused heavy smoke. A half-dozen crews were called in to fight the fire.

The American Red Cross is helping the residents of the home.

No one was hurt. The cause is under investigation.
