City graduates 3rd round of candidates from business program
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - A group of 11 businesses graduated from a business program with the City of Rochester Wednesday night.
The Rochester Schools Modernization Program's Business Opportunity Program (BOP) gives tools and information to small, disadvantaged, minority and women-owned businesses in Rochester.
It helps to better inform them on business operations, bidding for contracts, law, construction, human resources and other important elements of businesses.
Nine individual graduates representing those 11 companies have done work on the RCSD Modernization Program as part of the BOP.
"Once they graduate, as the 11 companies here tonight will, they can then enter a mentoring program where, on a 1-1 inidvidualized basis, they can get the tutorial assistance they need specific to needs they need to address," said Travis Miller, business opportunities manager for RCSD Modernization Program.
This was the third round of businesses to complete the instructional program. For more information about the BOP, click here.
