Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - A former family doctor in Clyde, Wayne County pleaded guilty to child pornography charges on Tuesday morning.

David Blasczak, 69, pleaded guilty to three counts of receipt of child pornography in federal court. He was arrested and charged back in January with receiving and possessing child pornography. He practiced medicine at the Clyde Family Health Center through Finger Lakes Health. At his sentencing, he admitted that between September 1, 2015, and January 18, 2018, he purchased 2,557 photos and 78 videos of child pornography from a website.

Blasczak faces up to 60 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

Prosecutors said Blasczak is accused of making several purchases from a website associated with child pornography. A search of his home found initially more than 1,000 images and videos of child pornography. Blasczak admitted to downloading child pornography from the online site and paid $100 per file. He admitted that between September 1, 2015, and January 18, 2018, he purchased 2,557 photos and 78 videos.

When asked what kinds of material he possessed, prosecutors say Blasczak specifically used the word "prepubescent." Between approximately 1990 and 2000, Blasczak said he hosted slumber parties at his home. When the girls were sleeping, he admitted to sexually abusing them by touching them in private areas and took photos as many as 40 times. He also admitted that he stole children’s underwear from various places, including a friend’s house, for his sexual gratification.

Nearly 30 separate people were interviewed for this investigation and said they were exposed to some type of inappropriate conduct by Blasczak, according to federal attorneys.

Blasczak is scheduled to be sentenced on November 20 at 9:15 a.m.
