Companies seek new hires at MCC job fair
Brighton, N.Y. (WHAM) - New careers may have been launched Wednesday at a job fair held at MCC.
Nearly 70 companies were set up at MCC for the 9th annual Greater Rochester Career Conference and Job Fair.
Employers from several industries - customer service, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, IT, agriculture, leisure and more - were on hand to offer positions and interview applicants.
The jobs to be filled ranged from entry-level positions to management roles.
"In today's market what we are seeing more and more is obviously technology," said John Premo of RochesterWorks!. "Your skill set, your knowledge of it plays a big part and I think the more that you are current in those skills and that understanding, I think obviously the more marketable you will be to employers. But in all fairness, there are opportunities out there that don't require the high level as well."
Nearly 1,000 people looking for jobs were brought in.
RochesterWorks! helped to put on Wednesday's job fair. The organization helps to connect job seekers to educational training on topics such as technology. You can learn more here.
