Contractor rescued after becoming pinned under concrete
Irondequoit, N.Y. – A contractor was injured while performing work at an Irondequoit home Monday afternoon.
Crews were called to Seneca Road around 3:30 p.m.
Firefighters tell 13WHAM concrete fell on top of the contractor, trapping him from the waist down.
Crews from across the county were dispatched. They were able to rescue him from underneath the concrete after about 40 minutes.
“It’s really a testament to how well-trained the personnel are in this county, all of the firefighters, the paramedics, staff in the emergency rooms,” said Point Pleasant Fire District Chief Peter Clarcq. “There was a lot of teamwork today and a lot of training that’s been going on for years that’s come into play and been put to good use.”
Specific details on the contractor’s condition were not available on-scene.
