Churchville, NY (WHAM) - Monroe County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a 10-year-old boy.

Deputies say J’Vieon Grayson-Sutton was found unconscious by his 6-year-old brother around 9:30 Monday night.

The two boys were home alone at the time.

According to deputies, the mother was at work, and the 6-year-old's father was supposed to be watching the kids, but he left them alone for at least an hour.

The 6-year-old found his brother unconscious and went to a neighbor on Fitch Street, who called 911 and gave the 10-year-old CPR, according to deputies.

The boy died at Strong Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies say there was a powdery substance found at the scene, that did not contain drugs, but they are still testing.

"It's a terrible tragedy," said Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn. "And seeing any young person like this, having a situation like this - again, we don't have all the facts, so we don't know exactly what caused the death."

Emily Harris lives across the street from the home where Grayson-Sutton lived. She said he had some tough times with other kids.

"He was a good kid, but he seemed to be bullied a lot," she told 13WHAM. "People treated him not very nice at all."

The investigation is ongoing.
