Sheriff's Office shows support of fallen deputy's family at LeRoy homecoming
LeRoy, N.Y. – Some special guests were in attendance at Friday night’s homecoming football game in LeRoy.
Several Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies gathered at the game – all in support of one family, in particular.
In August 2014, Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank Bordonaro died in the line of duty. Friday, two of his sons were playing in the homecoming game; one is a senior, and the other was recently bumped up from JV level.
The deputies who attended Friday’s game said they wanted to support Bondonaro’s family and let them know they are not forgotten.
“We at the Sheriff’s Office try to be a family, and feel that we are,” said Sgt. Ron Meides of the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, “and we’re here to support them and let them know that, even though Frank’s not here, we all were here to help them and be there for them, because Frank can’t.”
