Deputies: Suspect broke in, swiped $60 in quarters from Hamlin car wash

The owners of a car wash in Hamlin are hoping images from surveillance video help in tracking down a suspect who allegedly robbed the business.

On Wednesday, October 10th around 2 a.m., the owners of Top Notch Car Wash on Lake Road said a coin operated vacuum machine was broken into, and that money was stolen.

The suspect or suspects appeared to have used bolt cutters and pry bars.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies are investigating. They said the suspect stole about $60 in quarters from the machine.

According to deputies, the surveillance video shows a white Chevy work van with a yellow and red ladder on its rooftop parked in front of the car vacuum.

Deputies said the suspect is a male, however, surveillance video from the business shows a second suspect.

The business was broken into before, in 2016, when the car was was burglarized and vandalized.
