Deputies: Tennessee man attempts to run over churchgoers in Batavia, found with meth
BATAVIA, N.Y. (WHAM) - One person was arrested after deputies say he tried to run over four people.
Genesee County Sheriff's Deputies arrested Paul Hussey, of Tennessee, on August 8.
The incident happened just before 7 p.m on Wednesday.
Deputies say Hussey attempted to run people over at the Northgate Free Methodist Church in Batavia.
"It was a car that came out of nowhere and tried to hurt us," described one church member, who asked not to be identified.
Hussey was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
He faces multiple charges including four counts of attempted assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
"Nobody was injured, but it was scary," said the church member.
Hussey remains in Genesee County Jail and will appear in the Town of Batavia Court at a later date.
