Doors to the Cadillac Hotel chained Tuesday night
Rochester, N.Y. - The doors to the Cadillac Hotel were chained shut Tuesday night.
The building, which is being renovated into a high-end hotel, has been the site of protests recently. Advocates have expressed concerns about low-income residents and where they will be placed after the closure.
Rochester Police officers were called to the hotel on Chestnut Street around 9:45 p.m. by DHD Ventures, the property management company which owns the building. The company requested that cots, bedding and other items that were blocking the outer doors be removed so the building could be locked.
Officers temporarily detained three people for trying to prevent the property from being removed.
Police later released all three without any charges being filed. Everyone left of their own volition, according to police.
