Ogden, N.Y. - Four people were injured in a three-car crash on Buffalo Road Monday.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Buffalo Road near Whittier Road.
According to police, an SUV driving westbound crossed the center line and hit a sedan heading eastbound. The impact caused the sedan to hit a third vehicle.
Police say 60-year-old James Redman was driving the SUV that crashed into the sedan. Three people, including two children, were riding in the sedan. The driver of the sedan, 35-year-old Elizabeth Slifka, suffered extensive internal injuries and multiple fractures. The two children who were also in the sedan were taken to a hospital; one of them had a fractured pelvis. Police say both were properly restrained in the car.
The driver of the third vehicle, 33-year-old Daniel Demos, was unhurt.
An on-duty Ogden Police officer was driving behind Demos’ vehicle on routine patrol and was able to help immediately.
Buffalo Road was closed for approximately five hours to reconstruct the crash, although work was delayed by rain in the late afternoon.
No citations have been issued yet.
Ogden Police continue to work with New York State Police and investigate the crash.
