Driver ticketed for fatal hit-and-run involving horse

Mendon, N.Y. – A Victor man has been ticketed after Sheriff’s deputies say he struck a horse in Mendon and left the scene.

Deputies had been seeking information in regard to a January 4 hit-and-run, in which a horse was fatally struck.

Jeremy Dosiek, 42, was issued a ticket for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving an animal.

Deputies say social media posts helped them identify the vehicle in the case.

According to deputies, Dosiek claimed he thought he hit a deer.
