Irondequoit, N.Y. (WHAM) - An interim superintendent has been named for the East Irondequoit Central School District.
Mary Grow has been named Interim Superintendent for the district. The East Irondequoit Board of Education announced its decision on Friday.
Current superintendent Susan Allen is scheduled to retire on December 31, 2018. She has served as the leader of the district since 2005.
Grow has served as Assistant Superintendent for Instruction since 2015.
“I’m very excited at the opportunity the board has given me,” Grow said. “I’m looking forward to working with, and for, the staff, students and community to continue making East Irondequoit a great place to learn, work and live.”
Ms. Grow has been with the district since 2002 when she started as a social studies teacher at Eastridge High School. She then moved into the role of assistance principal, then principal.
The district will have Grow in the interim superintendent role for one year, starting on January 1, 2019.
