Missing Fairport man found one day after vanishing

The Silver Alert for Norman Reak of Fairport has been cancelled as of 9:45 Thursday morning.

He was found inside his car in the City Gate parking lot on East Henrietta Road in Rochester.

Police said Reak is in the hospital being treated for exposure and is in good condition.

It's unclear how long he was exposed to cold weather.


Fairport, N.Y. – Fairport Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing individual.

Norman Reak, 86, is said to have left his home on Miles Circle around 4 p.m. in a 2012 White Subaru Legacy with the registration CHW2451. His last known whereabouts where the Penfield Tops around 5 p.m.

Police say Reak may be confused about his whereabouts.

He is described as being 5’10’’, 200 pounds and wearing a blue winter jacket and a black maroon plaid shirt.

Anyone with information on Mr. Reak’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
