View from above: Final preparations for Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The 17th edition of the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival kicks off Friday, June 22nd.
Gibbs Street has been shut down as crews transform the road into Jazz Street. The area features the City of Rochester Jazz Street Stage Presented by the Community Foundation.
There are also a number of new venues this year, including the stage at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park (Manhattan Square) and the Temple Building Theater on Liberty Pole Way.
The festival features 20 different stages and more than 1,500 artists. More than 200,000 people are expected to attend. Seal will kick off the headliners at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre on Friday.
