Fishermen help troopers rescue man who jumped from Irondequoit Bay Bridge

Irondequoit, N.Y. (WHAM) - Two fishermen on Irondequoit Bay helped to rescue a man who jumped from the Irondequoit Bay Bridge into the water Friday morning.

State Police said they were called around 9:15 a.m. about a man who parked his car on Rt. 104 West and jumped off into the water below.

Troopers and Webster Police officers responded and spotted a man in the water.

The two men who were fishing brought their boat to the man in the water, pulled him aboard and brought him to the shore.

Emergency responders took the man to the hospital to be treated for his injuries and to be evaluated.
