Four suspects in Penfield man's murder to be tried together
Rochester, N.Y. – The four suspects in the Craig Rideout murder trial will be tried together, a judge ruled Wednesday.
Judge Thomas Moran also ruled on whether some statements given by the defendants would be admissible in trial proceedings.
Laura Rideout, her sons, Colin and Alex, and Paul Tucci have accused of murder and evidence tampering in connection with Craig Rideout’s death last year. Rideout was found partially buried in Yates County. Investigators said he was strangled with a homemade garrote in his Penfield home, and his face had been burned with acid.
Judge Moran also ruled Wednesday that all statements made to police by Laura Rideout and Paul Tucci will be allowed at trial, as will all evidence recovered from his vehicle.
Statements made by Alex and Colin Rideout at the Devil’s Bathtub in Mendon Ponds Park were suppressed from trial proceedings.
