Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Doctors say the best protection against breast cancer is early detection and routine screenings.

As part of the 'Get Screened, No Excuses' campaign, Jordan Health offered free professional bra fittings and a free bra to women who were screened on Monday.

Earlier this year, a new law took effect that requires hospitals and clinics to extend hours for mammograms and eliminates insurance costs for screenings.

"I know so many fantastic women in my life who are always so worried about taking care of other people," said Senator Joe Robach (R, NY-56). "You can't take care of other people unless you're healthy and you take care of yourself."

Lauren Morelle, the late daughter of NYS Assemblyman Joe Morelle, was honored at Monday's event.

Lauren was an ambassador last year. She died in August after a battle with breast cancer.
