Full-day kindergarten in Pittsford one step closer after school board vote
Pittsford, N.Y. – The Pittsford Central School District is a step closer to full-day kindergarten.
Monday night, the Pittsford School Board unanimously passed the proposed 2018-2019 budget, which includes full-day kindergarten.
Pittsford had been one of five school districts in New York that did not have full-day kindergarten. Last week, the district and Senator Rich Funke announced a three-year state grant had been secured for the district, so that it could transition its kindergarten program.
Taxpayers will have the opportunity to vote on the budget next month, on May 15.
