Rochester, N.Y. – The George Eastman Museum’s restoration efforts will be continuing next summer.

The next – and biggest – phase will focus on the colonnade, which connects the museum to George Eastman’s house.

A public gathering was held Wednesday night to outline what changes need to take place.

“The roof needs to be replaced, the floor underneath is deteriorating – that’s because of the basement below here - and all the windows need to be replaced,” said Bruce Barnes of the George Eastman Museum. “So it’s a very big project, and we’re very excited about it, but one of the things that we’re doing is we’re going to New York State for a grant to try and help us out to get it done.”

The work is expected to begin next July, and may take about 12 weeks.
