Rochester man charged with stabbing girlfriend to death
A 25-year-old woman has been killed in what Greece police call a "stabbing incident that ended in a fatality."
Police say Holly Slaght was killed by Dishon Belgrave.
Belgrave, a 25-year-old Rochester man, was arraigned Friday morning on second degree murder charges. Belgrave is described by police as Slaght's "significant other."
Belgrave and Slaght were both staying at the home of Slaght's grandmother on Maiden Lane, according to Greece Police.
Officers say the grandmother called police around 2:30 a.m. to report a domestic incident. Police found Slaght with multiple stab wounds and say she was dead when they arrived.
"You hate to see those things happen. If he just walked away, like my wife said, why didn't he just walk out the door? Calm down and work it out, you know?" said Dennis Ruger, a neighbor.
Parts of Maiden Lane were closed for the investigation but were re-opened a short time later.
Belgrave remains in Monroe County Jail with no bail.
