Group that took down carousel panel in Rochester holding exhibit
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Community groups have put together an exhibit related to the removal of racist art from Rochester.
The Take It Down! Organizing Against Racism Exhibit is in partnership with the City of Rochester and the Rochester Museum and Science Center.
The group said it is responsible for taking down the racist panel of art from the Dentzel Carousel in Ontario Beach Park that depicts African-American children in a degrading manner.
The panel was taken down last spring and taken elsewhere.
The exhibit is scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5:30-8:30, and is free and open to the public.
It will take place at the Central Church of Christ at 101 S Plymouth Ave.
