Irondequoit, N.Y. – A local business has announced the opening of a two-story building designed to function as its own powerhouse.

The Imaginarium at I-Square is an art and science space set up to provide an experience.

The building, which has 92 solar panels and a water wheel, allows visitors to cycle to create energy.

Plants that will be used in the market are also grown at the Imaginarium.

“We built this with the idea of helping to improve our environment in the future,” said I-Square owner Wendy Nolan. “Also, to showcase what we can do with a little bit of ingenuity and try to educate people, as well as make it fun to learn about.”

The Imaginarium is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays.
