Inn on the Lake set to get major transformation, will close for development in fall, 2018
Canandaigua, N.Y. - The Inn on the Lake in Canandaigua is set to get a major transformation that will require it to close for about a year and a half.
The project will turn the facility, which is located on South Main Street, into a premier boutique inn.
New York City-based design and development group Studio Tack will join local companies LeChase Construction, design firm SWBR, Passero Associates Engineering and HB Cornerstone for the project.
The Inn on the Lake says the vision for its property is "to create a beautiful, modern waterfront inn featuring world-class facilities and amenities that respond to the growing demand for authentic and personalized travel, recreational, and special event experiences that exemplify the region’s best."
“We knew we had an opportunity with this project to fully integrate all of what’s special about Canandaigua Lake and the Finger Lakes region into a superior guest experience, and that’s exactly what we’re doing,” Inn on the Lake managing director Chris Burns. “The new Inn will be unrivaled in our area and we’re excited to share it with our local community, as well as guests from around the world.”
The Inn on the Lake plans to close in the fall of 2018 for development and reopen in the summer of 2020.
“Ultimately, we’re doing this for the community,” said Burns. “We’re excited about the project, but right now, we’re gearing up for our best spring and summer season ever as we celebrate ‘business as usual’ through the fall of 2018.”
Further details about the project are expected to be released in the spring.
