Jail deputy among two arrested for robbery, assault incident in Greece

Greece, N.Y. - Greece Police say a jail deputy is among two people who have been arrested in connection with a robbery on Latta Road Tuesday morning.

Selina Sonmez, 20, has been charged with second degree robbery, fourth degree grand larceny, third degree assault and aggravated criminal contempt. She is also accused of violating an order of protection. Brandon Guidice, 21, is charged with robbery in the second, grand larceny in the fourth and assault in the third. Both are residents of Greece.

The two were arrested Tuesday for allegedly robbing and beating an individual in a parking lot on Latta Road around 1:15 a.m. Police say the victim was known to them.

Ms. Sonmez was remanded to the Monroe County Jail on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bail. Mr. Guidice was released following his arraignment. Police say he is employed as a jail deputy with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office. A statement from the Sheriff's Office states he has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. The statement adds Mr. Guidice has served on the Monroe County Sheriff's Office for eight months.

Police add they are seeking other suspects in connection with the incident.
