Undated – Consumers are being urged to use caution this holiday season when it comes to picking out decorations.

The warning comes from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Among their concerns are dry trees, which can catch fire if left by candles or faulty wiring. The agency suggests keeping your tree well-watered and keep candles away from flammable sources.

It also recommends checking items like bulbs and circuits ahead of time.

And when it comes to putting up your decorations, the agency reminds consumers to be careful of falling, getting cut or straining your back.
