Rochester, N.Y. - Many came out to RIT Saturday to kick off National Drive Electric Week.
Attendees got the chance to test drive electric cars and meet with several dealers.
At least 30 electric car owners also came to the event with their cars.
It was all part of promoting the adoption of electric cars.
"So it's a growing thing and I think a lot of people are grasping the importance of it and understanding it more," said David Keefe of Greater Rochester Clean Cities.
Organizers say it's getting easier to drive electric as the number of public charging stations continues to increase.
