Local volunteers serve Christmas meal to the homeless
Rochester, N.Y. - Local volunteers rallied on Christmas day to make sure the homeless had a good meal.
They served a roast beef dinner Monday afternoon at Asbury Church in Rochester.
It was complete with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and homemade desserts.
The volunteers said they wanted to make sure the guests stayed warm and enjoyed their Christmas.
"We're so fortunate to have a warm home, good food and a wonderful place to go," said Temple Beth Am volunteer Amy Libenson. "And it's very helpful for us to be able to give to the community. It just means so much to us. I think we get more than the guests do."
Asbury teamed up with volunteers from Temple Beth Am.
This is the fifth year they've organized this event.
