Bristol, N.Y. (WHAM) - Deputies in Ontario County said they arrested a man in Bristol after he failed to adequately treat his dog with a cancerous tumor.

Officers with the Ontario County Humane Society said deputies were serving an eviction order at a home on Gulick Road when they noticed a black lab named Sadie who could not walk on her right front paw.

Sadie also had a torn toenail and an infected paw that was not being treated adequately. Humane Society officers took Sadie to be treated, removing the tumor from her paw immediately. The tumor was found to be cancerous.

Sadie's owner, 57-year-old Kenneth Lotta, was arrested and charged with animal cruelty.

Lotta was issued an appearance ticket to appear in court at a later date and released.
