Webster woman ticketed for car accident near Penfield High School

A pedestrian is battling serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Penfield.

Penfield, N.Y. (WHAM) - An 88-year-old man is battling serious injuries after he was struck by a vehicle in Penfield last week.

Monroe County Sheriff's Office says just before 11:30 a.m. on Friday, November 2nd, Richard Menga of Perinton was struck by a vehicle that was leaving Penfield High School.

The driver, Jennifer Fichera, 31, of Webster, was ticketed for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.

The incident happened while Menga was crossing Five Mile Line Road at the high school entrance.

He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he remains in guarded condition.

A stretch of Five Mile Line Road was closed for several hours.

Deputies say no students were involved in the accident.
