New home for Vertus Charter School
Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - Vertus Charter School, an all-boys school, has a new home.
The year-round high school moved from Austin Street to a former Harris building on Humboldt Street recently.
The building was custom-designed for the school's innovative use.
By the time it is fully completed this summer, it will include a regulation-size gym, maker lab, art room, science lab, computer learning labs, and classrooms for small group work and seminars.
The school has received high marks for its increases in reading and math test scores over the last few years.
Last summer, several students used 3D printers to create prosthetic hands for children in the Rochester area who might need them.
