Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - After an international search, the Rochester Museum and Science Center (RMSC) has selected its new president and CEO.
Hillary Olson will join the organization in November. She will take over for Kate Bennett, who has been serving as the president and CEO for 22 years.
Olson, who grew up in Ogden and graduated from Brockport High School has been working in science museums for nearly 25 years. Her current role is vice president of Audience and Community Engagement at the Milwaukee Public Museum in Wisconsin.
"Connecting museum and nature center visitors of all ages to the wonders of exploration in science, natural history, and our shared cultural background is my passion," Olson said. "Everyone has something to learn at RMSC, the Strasenburgh Planetarium, and the Cumming Nature Center. I'm excited to be coming back home, and to make a difference in the place that first inspired me."
Bennett will be shifting into a new role for RMSC to work on special fundraising projects.
