There's a new ice cream shop in Scottsville with a special meaning behind it.

iKON is named for 8-year-old Kael Nicolosi, who died in a car crash in February in 2017. KON stands for his initials.

His parents decided to open the shop because Kael wanted to have his own ice cream truck business.

They said this was the perfect opportunity to honor their son, while also giving back to the community who rallied behind them after Kael's death.

“We’re just excited about spreading Kael’s name and a lot of what he stood for, and giving back to his friends that have a special place with us and always will," said Keith Nicolosi, Kael's father.

iKON is painted orange and purple, which were Kael's favorite colors.

It also features photos of him and his friends.
