LIVINGSTON COUNTY, N.Y. (WHAM) - Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty has issued a No Unnecessary Travel directive effective until 3:00 a.m. Tuesday.

This does not mandate you to stay off the roads, but does strongly encourage drivers to stay off the roads due to hazardous travel conditions including very poor visibility.

The directive has been issued by the Sheriff after deputies and plow operators advised of white out conditions.

Certain highway departments took their plows off the road because of visibility issues, according to the Sheriff.

If you must travel, you are advised to put your four way hazard lights on and travel slowly.
