Rochester, N.Y. - Protesters gathered outside Rochester's federal building Thursday, joining others nationwide for a "Nobody is above the law" rally.
They seek to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, following the firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
"We did this because we want to make it clear that this is not acceptable, that we will not allow the president to oversee his own investigation, and we’re watching," said participant Amanda Flannery.
She hopes that citizens on both the left and right can unite over the issue.
"We have to approach this in a bipartisan way, because nobody should think this is okay," she said.
