Two taken into custody during Ridgeway Ave. investigation

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - Rochester Police closed a portion of Ridgeway Avenue for an investigation Wednesday.

Police say the call came in shortly before 10:30 a.m. for a possible robbery in progress.

Police say they encountered two men at the scene, and they both tried to flee police.

One of them was apprehended immediately.

The second suspect was caught a short time later.

Police shut the road down and did a reverse 911 call to let neighbors know about the investigation.

SWAT responded to the area to search for any other potential suspects.

No injuries were reported during the incident.

Police say a handgun was located in the area of the foot chase, and believe it was dropped by one of the suspects.
