Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM)- Rochester International Academy held an early Thanksgiving dinner for their students on Saturday.
98% of the students at the school are refugees and the dinner is a way to introduce them to the United States, through different American holidays.
The principal of the school, Mary Andrecolich-Montesano-Diaz, says, "it's a time to celebrate family, regardless of where we come from or who we are, our religion, our language."
More than 60 volunteers were on hand to help out at Saturday's dinner.
The Jewish-Muslim coalition donated 50 turkeys. The rest of the food was home cooked by the staff at the school.
