Rochester man seriously injured after being hit by vehicle on Union Street
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - A 71-year-old pedestrian was sent to the hospital after police say he was struck by a vehicle on Union Street Sunday night.
According to police, the 71-year-old man was crossing Union Street at East Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle heading south on Union Street around 8:50 p.m.
He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for serious but non life-threatening injuries.
Police say it appears that the pedestrian disobeyed the traffic control device at the corner of East Avenue and Union Street.
The driver of the vehicle was not cited.
