Rochester native joins the race for governor alongside Larry Sharpe
NEW YORK, N.Y. (WHAM)- A Rochester native is joining the race for governor alongside Libertarian Larry Sharpe.
Andrew Hollister will be running as Sharpe's Lieutenant Governor.
Hollister has completed volunteer work around Rochester, including serving as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician, along with volunteering for Amateur Radio Emergency Services and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service.
He also ran for city council.
Hollister says he and Sharpe want to create a New York that people want to start a life in.
“I’m running because New York is my home,” Hollister said. “My wife and I are planning for our family and we want the absolute best for our children. Right now New York doesn’t provide that.”
Governor candidate Larry Sharpe is a Bronx native and Marine Corps veteran.
The election is on November 6th.
