Rochester woman pleads guilty to stealing van with child inside
Greece, N.Y. (WHAM) - A Rochester woman pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon to grand larceny charges in connection with a van stolen with a four-year-old girl inside.
Tyneidra Snow pleaded guilty to one count of grand larceny 3rd. She was originally charged with second degree kidnapping and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the welfare of a child in addition to that grand larceny charge.
On November 21, police say Snow stole a van with a four-year-old child inside at the Walmart on Dewey Avenue.
The vehicle was found about two hours later on Merlin Street.
Police had released a photo of a second person believed to have been involved in the incident. She was identified by police and released without being charged.
According to Snow, a friend found the keys to the van at Walmart. The two went around the parking lot and used the panic button to locate the van. When they found it, they got inside and drove away.
Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Sara Vanstrydonck said the investigation has not yet been completed and charges are possible against the mother of the girl left in the van.
Snow is scheduled to be sentenced on January 23 at 1:30 p.m.
