RPO to perform in Rochester neighborhoods during summer

    Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra is bringing music to neighborhoods across the city throughout this summer.

    Mayor Warren announced the fifth annual Around the Town Neighborhood Ensemble Concert series.

    Starting Tuesday, the RPO will be performing classical, world-renowned music from 6:30-7:30 p.m. each week through the end of July.

    The concerts are free to attend and are being held at the following locations and dates:

    • July 17: Jazz Trio and the Latino Theatre Company & the Garth Fagan Youth Dance Ensemble to perform at the corner of Joseph and Clifford Avenue. (Rain location at Avenue D R-Center)
    • July 24: Jazz Trio to perform at Barrington Park, aka “Park Avenue Green,” at the corner of Barrington Street and Park Avenue. (Rain location at Immanuel Baptist Church)
    • July 31: RPO Marimba Band at Maplewood Rose Garden (Rain location at Edgerton R-Center)

    People are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
