Gates, N.Y. (WHAM) - Starting next week, Rt. 390 in Gates will be closing down some of its lanes to drivers for construction work.

On June 25, New York State DOT workers will close one lane on Route 390 South between Lexington and Lyell Avenues for the bridge over Trolley Blvd.

After 2 1/2 weeks of work, Rt. 390 North will close one lane and cross over into the existing southbound travel lanes. Drivers headed south will be accompanied by two travel lanes immediately to the west of the existing lanes.

The crossover is expected to last about 3 1/2 weeks.

Northbound traffic will then reopen to three lanes in its original traffic pattern.

The construction is part of the ongoing 390/490 Interchange project.
