Greece, N.Y. (WHAM) - No one was seriously hurt Thursday morning when a school bus in Greece crashed into an elementary school.

The driver of the Greece School District bus accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake while pulling into a parking spot at Holmes Road Elementary School, according to a district spokesperson.

The bus damaged multiple windows and a heating structure inside the school's art room.

The driver of the bus and the aide who were on the bus were both taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated.

Two students were on the bus at the time, but no students were in the classroom, only a teacher. No one outside of the bus was injured.

"Kids don't get out as the buses come in, they sort of get out en masse because there is adult supervision," said Lauren Heiden, spokesperson for the Greece School District. "So fortunately kids weren't getting off other buses at the time of this incident."

Art classes will be held in the school's cafeteria while damage to the building is being repaired.
