Rochester, N.Y. (13WHAM) - Phil and Cheryl Enders say all they want for Christmas is tickets to the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival. In fact, they say it's a standing gift request from their kids each Christmas.

Sunday, the Charlotte couple came to the festival, armed with umbrellas, and hats.

They say it'd take more than rain to keep them from coming back.

"It’s just a nice time. I think it’s the best thing Rochester does, all year long," said Phil.

"It’s exciting," said Cheryl. "It’s a little exhausting, but it’s a lot of fun."

They say they go to events at all nine days of the festival. They describe as a mini-vacation, a short daily drive from home.

"It’s a staycation, we spend the whole nine days together catching music and stuff like that- it’s a lot of fun for us," said Phil.

Much like the Enders, music fans like Gary Combs come for the jazz tunes. But part of what's bringing them back goes beyond the musicians.

"A lot of good food, good music," said Combs. "There’s something for everyone, it’s not just jazz, but you just have to explore and find what you like."

Another day at the festival is something Combs didn't want to pass up, even with the threat of rain for much of the day.

He says the duration of the festival, and all that's included, is one-of-a-kind.

"This is just incredible, the sheer length and sheer volume of the musicians and groups that come," said Combs.
