State Police investigate fatal head-on collision on I-590 in Irondequoit

IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHAM) - State Police are investigating an accident that killed one man on I-590 in Irondequoit early Saturday morning.

According to New York State Police, officers responded to a two vehicle accident on 590 southbound in Irondequoit at 2:27 a.m.

60-year-old Steven Roides of Rochester was traveling northbound in the southbound lane and struck a vehicle heading southbound head-on.

Roides was killed in the accident.

The driver of the other vehicle in the accident, 30-year-old Daniel Lamantia of Webster, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
