Crews battle fire at tattoo shop in Victor, damage unknown


Victor, N.Y. (WHAM) - Fire crews are battling a fire in the village of Victor Friday afternoon.

Initial reports came in around 3:45 p.m. for a kitchen fire on E. Main Street. Crews arrived and found flames and smoke coming from the roof.

Witnesses report that the tattoo shop Rite Of Passage is located in the building, one of the oldest buildings in the village of Victor.

Ten fire departments were on scene, with more than 100 firefighters working to fight the fire.

No one was hurt, but crews have not yet determined the extent of the damage in the fire.

Fire trucks and hoses are lined across East Main Street near Maple Avenue, shutting down one of the busiest intersections in Victor during rush hour.

Traffic on Rt. 96 going into the village is closed at School Street, as well as on Maple Avenue coming from East Bloomfield is closed at Adams Street. Rt. 96 is also shut down from the Farmington exit coming into the village.
