Rochester, N.Y. (WHAM) - The Thomson Reuters office in Rochester will be shutting down.
Communications officer Jeffrey McCoy said the office is closing as a way to run the "global business operations more efficiently."
The office is currently located on Broad Street in downtown Rochester.
"This disciplined approach sometimes includes reviews of our real estate portfolio to best balance our internal resources with the needs of our customers in a highly competitive environment," McCoy said in an emailed statement.
There were no responses to requests for information related to a closure date or how many employees would be affected by the closing.
There was also no estimate as to how many current employees there are at the Thomson Reuters branch in Rochester.
The next closest location of a Thomson Reuters office is Times Square in Manhattan, approximately 335 miles southeast of Rochester.
